HYPE - What is it?

Hype is defined as blatant promotion, sensational publicity or favorable advertisement. Sometimes referred to as ballyhoo, hoopla or plugging, hype is all about drawing your attention to something.

Like similar directories, HYPE!! is all about publicity. Publicity for the wonderful people I host. Publicity for sites I adore. Publicity for sites I visit all the time. Of course there is also an option for you, dear visitor. You can submit your own site(s) for inclusion in the listing.

HYPE - Why is it here?

To be honest, I'm pretty lazy. This leads to the horror known as not linking or not updating links to your friends, sites visited regularly, etc. This directory is putting a stop to that nonsense!

When you submit your URL, not only will you get promotion, you'll effectively force me to update :) That's a good thing, my friend. Besides, though there are other listings out there, none of them are run by me.

HYPE - Rules?

This isn't a snobbish listing, but there are some things to consider before you fill out the form.

Linking back is deeply appreciated (though not required). I'm linking you, so I think that's a fair swap, don't you?
If you're going to link back: snatch a code here.
Please don't submit sites that have all kinds of ads - pop-up or otherwise. But if it's a matter of 1 or 2 adverts, send it in and we'll see :)
Try to select the correct category. If you think I should add another category, (or delete one!) feel free to contact me with your suggestion.
Redirecting URLs are NOT allowed. Please send me the full, actual link to your site(s).
Add as many sites as you wish, just make sure to submit them individually.
English sites only, please.

HYPE!! is maintained (and was created) by yours truly, echo. It is powered by SimpleDir 3.2 and PHP goodness learned from Tutorialtastic and Codegrrl. For the layout, I used EditPad Lite for the XHTML & CSS and a slightly altered photograph I shot at the beach in Atlantic City, NJ.
